Chapter Thirteen: The mansion

And how the hell are we gonna get out of this mess?!

This is crazy! Look at all those freaks ready to kill us and make us into pieces of shit! Jacovich, still running around in circles, aint helping at all. Zhenhowsky could pick off some of the farther foes while Nadderine could slice up the closer ones. Markus can lay down a fire arc to prevent them from getting too grouped up together and lastly Leslie and I could probably take shots and hit some of them. But there's just too much! We won't be able to hold them off for long.

..And I had a plan.
"Jacovich, Zhenhowsky! Kill those two snipers, now! Markus you've got a fire grnade right? Throw it at those concentrated group of zombies, that'll hold them off for awhile. Nadderine, when I give the signal, slash off that electrical wire over there. Leslie, you and I will shoot off any other freaks that come, ok?"

Everyone got into their own position and Jacovich and Zhenhowsky pulled the triggers on their M4 and Ak47 respectively. 2 shots. The bullet from the M4 traveled fast and found its way into the left sniper's heart. The guy held onto his chest while blood oozed out and spilled everywhere. The INfected fell on his knees, dropping his M82A1 sniper rifle and died. The rifle let off a shot and it went through 4 of the heavy gunners killing them instantly as the .50 calibre went through each of them and exiting the 4th gunner, while ricocheting off the wall and landing infront of my foot.

Zhenhowsky's bullet was accurately placed and crunched the INfected's skull passing through and landing right inside the half brain. The INfected died instantly, slouched to the front and landing on his face. his sniper rifle was a Mosin-Nagant rifle mounted with a telescopic sight, a WW2 rifle often used as a sniper rifle for far ranged shooting. The gun fell from his hand and landed on one of the heavy gunner's head knocking him unconscious.

Markus threw his fire grenade and it exploded on contact off the ground and released a powerful fire blast which engulfed the grouped zombies in one corner and all of them went ablaze. To spicen things up, Markus kicked an oil barrel that he saw and it went rolling across the room and exploding as soon as it caught fire. The explosion was too strong though and it knocked out almost half of the room. Eh, lucky us.

Leslie and I kept shooting at any Devil's Ceberus or Froagers that came close. One froager jumped right infront of me and I quickly rolled to the side while Leslie shot at it 4 times hitting the chest and head twice each.

Lastly, I gave the signal to Nadderine and she slashed away at the exposed wire I pointed out to her and all the lights in the room switched off instantly. Everyone knew my plan and we all ran towards the steel door and crawled out of the hole that Zhenhowsky made earlier.

We were all outside and we all stopped for awhile to look behind and saw the head of one of the Tyrannian Hunter trying to fit through but sadly he was just too big. This also helped us cause it would block out any other experiments trying to get through.

"Ugh, can we stop going into labs next time? They're just trouble I tell you! Trouble!" Jacovich said while trying to catch some breath.

"Alright, alright. No more labs. What about that odd looking mansion in the distance? We could get some clues or anything that might help" Leslie pointed to the mansion on the hill a few walks from where we were.

"What about that old man you were talking about earlier Zhenhowsky? Anything he told you that might prove useful?" I asked.

"Yeah..he's from the organization behind all this."

"What the fuck!? That old man has something to do with this mess?!"

"Yeah but he didn't know that it would spread so quickly and harm anyone. He thought he was creating some kind of medicine that could potentially cure diseases not create zombies or freaks!"

"Alright, let's meet this old man before we move on. I need to find out more about this organization of his.." I said and then we all walked to the old man's house.

Jacovich kicked in as soon as he got infront of the door and started screaming "OLD MAN! WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU!?"

Something was wrong..it was quiet..too..quiet.

"Uh guys, I found him." Markus said.

He was already dead! Someone brutally murdered him while we were in the lab. A note was written in blood next to the old man's body.

"Baker.."

So it was Sergeant Baker who killed him! We need to get to him before more innocent people gets brought into this mess!

Before leaving, I looked for any other notes or stuff that might lead us somewhere. Nothing. Baker! That son of a bitch somehow knew that if we surived that trap that he set up, we would go to this old man and find clues. Shit!

"Charles, I have a feeling that this place might blow up." Zhenhowsky said.

"And why does your feeling tell you that?" I replied.

"Cause I hear some ticking..A time bomb! Shit everyone get out now!"

We all ran as fast as we could to the door and jumped out as quick as possible while the bomb inside the house exploded and sent us flying into the air where we landed a few feet away. I looked behind and saw the house breaking apart and turning into ash. The house was gone, literally. What kind of bomb was that?!

"Wooh, interesting." Zhenhowsky said while wiping off dirt from his face.

We all stood up, dusted off ash from our shirts and shoulders and walked off heading towards the hill.

We encountered some light resistance while walking but nothing a few bullets couldn't handle.

We arrived infront of the mansion, it was huge! And I really mean huge! It towered above us in glory and it had that eerie feeling from Arachno. We walked closer to it and the huge doors opened slowly, creaking and releasing smoke, just like in the movies! These doors were at least 4 or 5 times our height and were wooden but looked quite solid. A shining ray of light shone from inside and a really cold and spine shivering voice said "Welcome..."
