On The Run

On The Run. Day 1

I kept running, images running through my mind. Why did this happen to me?! Why me?!?

I had to push away passerby's as I ran through the crowds. I finally stopped when I ran into a backalley. I was breathing heavily, trying to get air as much as I could into my lungs. I was sweating like hell, my shoes and pants wet after stepping on pools of water. Finally, I was able to control myself, breathing normally. I put my hand in my right pocket and pulled out my cell phone. I clicked in a few numbers and pressed on the call button..

*click*

???:Speak to me.

Me:It's me, Brad.

???:Dude you sound terrible, what happened?

Me:Max, I need your help.. Are you free or sumthin?

Max:Yeah, come on over if you want to.

Me:Thanks..

Max..one of the few people I could trust..He might be able to help me out, but I can't let my guard down just yet. Anything could happen.

It was getting dark, I better get to his house quick.

I walked over to his house a few blocks from the backalley. Standing infront of the door, I let out a big sigh and knocked.

Noone answered.

I knocked again.

Still no answer.

Shit. Something's wrong!

I kicked the door open and searched inside. No sign of Max. There was a note on his computer desk though,

"The cigarette factory to the east from here. You might wanna come quick unless you want your friend dead."

Fuck! One problem leads to another.

I ran out of the house and got to the factory as fast as I could. The gates were armed with barbed wires and the steel mesh prevented me from going in. I saw a a pair of pliers nearby and used it to cut open the gates. How convenient.

I slammed the main doors open and got in. It was dark and quiet, I could only hear footsteps. I backed myself behind a wall and peeked out abit to see a guy patrolling around. He was holding a flashlight and I could see a handgun holstered on his belt. I searched around for any weapon I could find and saw a steel pipe laying on the floor. I picked it up and waited for the guy to walk over here.

Damnit he takes forever just to walk towards my direction.

Finally I could hear his footsteps get closer and closer. I held the pipe like a baseball bat, ready to smack him right in the head. He walked past me and I smacked the pipe to the back of his head. BAM! A satisfying sound of the pipe smashing the back of his skull!

The guy fell down infront of me, dropping his flashlight. I picked it up and switched it off, letting my left hand hold it while I searched his body for any useful items. I picked up his handgun, 2 ammo magazine clips and a silver key. I dragged his body over to a corner and left him there where the shadow concealed the body.

I walked across the hall and there was a door infront of me, I tried turning the knob but it was locked. Guess it's time to see if the key I took earlier was useful. I inserted the silver key and twisted it. I turned the doorknob and it opened easily.

I got in.

I was in a narrow corridor and there were stairs infront of me, leading upstairs I guess, and to my right, was a gap between the walls, must be some sort of room inside.

I backed myself on the wall near the gap and peeked inside the room. There were 2 men watching tv. I guess they won't notice if I walked over to the stairs. Silently, I walked past the gap but one of them caught a glimpse of me. Shit! I took out my handgun and readied myself.

I think I saw something! The guy said.

He walked out of the room, handgun ready in his hands, and looked at the direction where I was backing myself earlier. I took aim at his head and squeezed off the trigger. BANG!

The bullet was a direct hit and the guy fell on the ground, dropping his handgun.

The other guy quickly ran out to see what happened and I shot him twice in the chest. He too fell on the ground, dead.

I guess the shadows really helped conceal me.

I walked over to both of them and took ammo for my handgun. I had 6 ammo magazine clips in my pocket. I hope I don't have to use it all upstairs, but if I have to, it's gonna be one hell of a gunfight.

I turned around and walked up the stairs.

Hang in there Max..
